Class Description:
Have you recently purchased your first firearm? Do you have a firearm in your home and don’t know the first thing about how to effectively and efficiently function check or clean it? This class is designed to provide entry level information to individuals who are new to gun ownership and have little to no experience with firearms. This class aims to establish a strong foundation of knowledge, safety, and confidence in handling firearms. We will go over how to “field strip” and give a top-level cleaning to YOUR firearm. Basic cleaning and function are not just for your husband, brother, or Dad! We will discuss the importance of quality eye & ear protection. We will also cover what to expect and what is expected of you when you start your training journey.
Target Audience:
This class is specifically designed for brand new gun owners who have no prior experience with firearms. Whether you recently purchased a firearm for personal protection, home defense, or recreational purposes, this class will equip you with the essential skills and understanding needed to safely handle and operate your firearm.
Subjects Covered:
- Learn the correct terminology for various parts of your handgun.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the essential controls of a firearm, such as the safety, magazine release, slide lock, and more.
- Learn the basics of field stripping, disassembling, and reassembling your firearm for cleaning and maintenance.
- Explore how firearms operate, including loading, unloading.
- Emphasize the importance of eye and ear protection when handling firearms, and gain knowledge about the different types available.
- Overview on what to expect and what is expected of you at your first visit to an instructor lead training participating in live fire. This includes range etiquette, basic shooting techniques, and responsible firearm handling. In addition, we will discuss what you might pack in your Range bag!
Throughout the class, there will be ample opportunities for questions, group discussions, and practical demonstrations to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the topics covered. This class will be 100% in the classroom. No Live fire.

This class is designed for 18yrs and up.
No prior knowledge or experience with firearms is required. Compliance with local laws and regulations regarding firearm ownership and possession is mandatory.
